CLEVELAND (CN) – The **ACLU has sued the State of Ohio to stop it from replacing its current five electronic voting systems with a centrally counted optical scan system. Plaintiffs, including some Ohio voters, claim the optical scan system disenfranchises less-educated voters, including minorities, because it does not notify them if the make simple mistakes, such as circling a box instead of filling it in. Plaintiffs claim this violates federal and state voting regulations. See the federal complaint.
