Overdose in jail

NEW ORLEANS — The Fifth Circuit upheld a summary judgment ruling in favor of a Mississippi county whose deputy arrested a woman for threatening, reckless behavior before she died in custody of a drug-induced cardiac arrest. Though he suspected she was under the influence, he was not aware of a substantial risk that she would die of an overdose.
