Party-Line Voting

A federal judge dismissed a law challenging a 2017 Texas law that removed straight-ticket voting on ballots, for lack of standing based on “<strong><a href="http://www.courthousenews.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Party-Line.pdf">speculative injuries</a></strong>” that it would slow down voting during the Covid-19 pandemic.</p>

LAREDO, Texas — A federal judge dismissed a lawsuit over a 2017 Texas law that removed straight-ticket voting on ballots, sayings the challengers lack standing based on speculation that the law will slow down voting during the Covid-19 pandemic.
