Police raid for reality TV

AUSTIN, Texas — A federal court in Texas allows part of a father’s civil rights lawsuit to proceed against Williamson County, its sheriff’s department and the producers behind the reality TV show “Live PD.” Because the show was so integrated into the department’s operations — deputies would get gift cards as an incentive for appearing on TV — they allegedly decided not to arrest the man’s son at a hearing and instead filmed a dramatic raid on the family home, scaring the family and humiliating them. His conspiracy claim may proceed.
