Reels Remix copyright trouble

SAN FRANCISCO — A California federal court granted partial summary judgments to both sides of a copyright dispute brought against Meta by Epidemic Sound, a music production and distribution firm, over claims that Meta’s Reels Remix feature uses tracks that infringe on Epidemic’s copyrights. Epidemic showed it has a valid copyright over several of the tracks in dispute, while Meta has shown that Epidemic cannot pursue statutory damages regarding another batch of tracks. The bulk of the dispute moves on.
