Roger Clemens Sues Former Trainer

HOUSTON – Roger Clemens has sued his former trainer, Brian McNamee, for defamation. Clemens claims McNamee accused him of using steroids and human growth hormone “only after being seriously threatened with criminal prosecution.” Clemens’ lawsuit is sure to raise questions about the tactics used in Congress’ continuing investigation of drug use in baseball.     Clemens claims the trainer injected him only with vitamin B-12 and the painkiller lidocaine, not with the long list of drugs listed in the Mitchell Report, led by former Sen. George Mitchell.     Both men face the prospect of being called to testify before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, at a hearing scheduled for Jan. 16.     See [complaint](http://www.courthousenews.com/2008/01/07/Roger Clemens.pdf) filed in Harris County Court.
