Salesforce and sex trafficking

DALLAS — Sex trafficking victims lost one of their Texas law trafficking claims against Salesforce, which they say provided support and services for Backpage, an online marketplace that facilitated their trafficking. The victims’ federal law claims can continue because they have sufficiently argued that Salesforce should have known Backpage was knowingly allowing victims to be sex trafficked on its website; the state law claim required Salesforce to have actual knowledge, however.
