Shark protections

SILVER SPRING, Md. — Fishermen will no longer be able to harvest oceanic whitetip sharks in the Atlantic or hammerhead sharks in the Caribbean once a federal rule goes into effect Feb. 2. The National Marine Fisheries Service recommended the move to help safeguard the federally protected species.
