Social Security Reps Must|E-File for Direct Payment

WASHINGTON (CN) – Representatives of social security claimants must use the Social Security Administration’s electronic services, as they become available, on matters for which the representatives request direct fee payment, according to new regulations.      The agency also has added an affirmative duty for the claimant’s attorney or other professional representative to use the agency’s available electronic services on matters for which the representative requests direct fee payment.     The agency encourages all representatives to use the electronic services as much as possible.     If the agency discovers noncompliance regarding an affirmative duty, it may investigate to determine if the representative is purposefully violating the duty or attempting to circumvent the rules.     Click the document for this regulation and others.
