WASHINGTON (CN) – Certain U.S. Government overseas posts may appoint local staff as contracting officers for federal acquisitions at $25,000 and below, according to a new State Department regulation. The officers would be selected non-U.S. citizens, such as foreign nationals and third country nationals. The change is meant to permit streamlined procurement processes at the agency’s overseas posts. Click the document icon for this regulation and others.
