Texas Courts Of Appeal

ELECTIONS – Tim Willet defeated Thomas Cole by a single vote to win a city council seat for Ward One of Huntsville, Texas. A Texas appeals court upheld a decision voiding the election because two Willet supporters did not live in the district up for election, but had used the address of their veterinary clinic and kennel within the district. See ruling.      WILLS/PROBATE – A Texas appeals court affirmed removal of plaintiff Clark Arreguin as executor of his mother’s estate because Arreguin’s siblings sufficiently proved that he engaged in self-dealing, misapplied or embezzled funds from the estate, and failed to properly account for the money. See ruling.
