Threatened wildflowers

A rare wildflower called the Tecopa bird’s beak that grows in Nevada and California may require protection under the Endangered Species Act, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced Monday. The plant with delicate pink flowers is threatened by groundwater pumping for agriculture and mining projects, according to the Center for Biological Diversity.
