Too late, Amazon

NEW ORLEANS — Amazon sought to transfer a wrongful death suit against it from a federal court in Louisiana to Mississippi on the argument that the suit should occur where the fatal accident between two 18-wheelers took place. But the court ruled that Amazon's own delay in moving for a transfer warrants denial of the motion alone. “This case has been pending for nearly 21 months,” but Amazon “does not provide any acceptable rationale why,” the judge wrote.
