Trans middle-schooler’s injunction will stay

CHICAGO — The Seventh Circuit declined to throw out a preliminary injunction issued in favor of the mother of a trans girl in middle school; their lawsuit challenges a Wisconsin school district’s policy requiring transgender girls to use the boys’ bathroom and locker room or a gender-neutral alternative. The judge turned a temporary restraining order into an injunction without holding a hearing, which the district challenges, but an evidentiary hearing is not required in order to issue a preliminary injunction.
