FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A 13-year-old transgender girl in Florida and her parents sued Broward County and state officials, including Republican Governor Ron DeSantis, to challenge a new law banning transgender female student-athletes from competing in school sports, claiming it is discriminatory and has nothing to do with fair competition.
