(CN) – The Department of Homeland Security plans to allow certain Mexican nationals to stay within 55 miles of the U.S. border, without obtaining a Form I-94 Arrival/ Departure Record. This is an increase over their having to stay within 25 miles of the border, previously. The rule would apply to certain nonimmigrant Mexican nationals presenting a Border Crossing Card, or other proper immigration documentation. The intent of the rule is to promote commerce and tourism in southern New Mexico. Click the document icon for this regulation and others.
