Unsafe scaffolding

LAFAYETTE, La. — A federal court in Louisiana denied a swing scaffolding installer’s request to dismiss negligence claims brought by a worker whose left arm was severed when the support structure collapsed; a safety harness suspended him in midair while he suffered extreme blood loss. The motion is brought too early, but discovery might support the scaffolder’s position that the worker’s negligence claim is barred by his product liability one.
