SAN FRANCISCO — U.S. District Judge William Alsup denied summary judgment Tuesday to the U.S. Postal Service and the city of Berkeley in their fight over the sale of the historic Berkeley Post Office. Alsup will try the case based on the record and two hours of closing arguments, unless the parties object, in which case he will hold a bench trial.
