NEW ORLEANS (CN) – St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Department arrests people without warrants, it arrests them with illegally obtained warrants, it admits that it does this, it keeps them in jail after they pay their bond, and it charges an illegal fee for posting the bond, a class-action complaint claims in Federal Court. Aside from that, though, things are pretty much OK. See complaint.
