What Goes Around ...

JACKSON, Mo. (CN) – Police say a man skipped jury duty in a drunken driving case so he could go on his own bender.      Curtis Lemons, 50, was to appear as a prospective juror but allegedly told a bailiff that he was too busy to show up after the bailiff called his house.      Associate Circuit Judge Scott Thomsen ordered officers to bring Lemons to the courthouse.      Lemons was held in custody while the drunken driving trial was going on after deputies allegedly detected a strong odor of alcohol on him.      Lemons allegedly told the judge that he had been drinking rum in the morning and Judge Thomsen found Lemons in contempt of court and fined him $250.
