Wrestling masks

NEW ORLEANS — A federal court in Louisiana declined to dismiss a costume company’s contract and copyright claims over the manufacture and sale of a modified version of its “Viper Silicon Mask,” which was altered and sold to a pro wrestler who had never reached an agreement with the firm. The wrestler and fight promoters made and sold tens of thousands of merchandise products based on the costume maker’s mask, and the maker’s claims are not preempted by federal copyright law.
